Shopping in Florence.

All the most famous designers of Italian fashion have their own outlets in Florence, there are so many fashion shops in Florence that you can spend a whole day shopping in the center of Florence where the most famous italian griffes are located.

In the center of Florence there are the shops of the most known italian fashion artists but if you go a little out of Florence you can find outlets where the designers sell collections of the previous year with as much as 50% rebate. This is a very convenient way of shopping in Florence since you can buy genuine italian crafted fashion goods for a nice price.

In Florence, you may find lots of shops which sell everything. Many people ask me where are the best ones with best prices, but I really don’t know it.
If you have time you can visit an outlet in the neighborhoods of Florence where you can find the most famous trade marks with very good prices. Usually the prices here are 40% or 50% less than in a shop of the city center, but really of a good value you can buy in the “Sale” periods ( from half July in summer and from January the 7th in winter) when you can pay the 50% less of the first discount. There are outlets daily tours, ask in an “information point”

An advice: if you find something you really like, buy it soon, if you putt off until tomorrow, may be tomorrow you have no time for it or you plans have changed or even you do not remember where you found the thing you liked.

Now few words about souvenirs: I think nobody like to receive a souvenir from Florence with the label “Made in China”… If you are looking for something inexpensive, have a look in Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy (natural products often from ancient remedies of the Monks), or in the old sweets shop, one of the few which has not yet given way to a modern pizzeria or snacks shop, Migone in Via Calzaiuoli 85/R where you can find many Italian and Tuscan sweet in nice wrappings. An advice: stamps may be bought also at the tobacconists’ buy your postcards in the places where they can sell you also the stamps or you’ll spend a lot of time looking for a postal office.
