Florence apartment rentals

This is a central apartment located  in “Oltrarno”, the left side of the Arno River which  cuts Florence into two parts, near the famous Ponte Vecchio  (The Old Bridge). The bridge crosses the river in its narrowest point and it is the oldest bridge of Florence. It has three bays  and it is so wide that it contains two porticoes  with shops which once were butchers. From the end of 16th century, Ferdinand the 1st Medici settled goldsmiths and jewellers in the shops. This bridge was the only one which the German army saved from the bombs in the last world war.
The apartment is a quiet, little part of  an ancient monastery, you arrive to second floor (no elevator) by an original stair which has the same handrail of 15th century, and by a balcony with view, where you can sit to admire the sunset over the roof of Florence. All around you, many of the most famous house-tower of the 14th century. History and curiosity of this part of Florence in our friend web site www.florenceinitaly.com.
